TallyLoot requests camera access only when you start a live scan. Your camera video stays on your device. Saving or sharing a scan uses your browser or phone and does not upload the video to TallyLoot.

During a live scan, selected still frames are sent to TallyLoot for object recognition and pricing, then passed to OpenAI for analysis. TallyLoot does not save those frames in its app database. OpenAI may retain API content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, or longer where required by law or to protect its services. Small item snapshots and your tally are stored locally on your device; clearing your saved tally removes its snapshots. If you choose Compare sold listings, the item name is sent to eBay as a search query; no snapshot or video is sent. When photo handoff is available and you choose Draft with snapshot, your browser sends that item's saved JPEG crop and listing details directly to Gregs List. The photo is not placed in the URL.

If you join the optional beta list, we store your email address, phone platform, and pricing market to contact you about TallyLoot test access and feedback. You can use the live scanner without submitting an email.

To prevent spam and control operating costs, TallyLoot stores privacy-protected identifiers and basic usage counts. To improve what scans notice, we also record the model's item names, categories, rough prices, confidence, and whether each suggestion was shown or filtered out, linked to a random tally ID. These text-only scan records do not include camera frames, video, snapshots, item descriptions, or raw text transcribed from the room. Contact details and links in item names are redacted, and records older than 90 days are deleted when new scans arrive. If you remove a priced item from a tally, we record that as a signal that it was not useful. These signals reveal patterns but cannot prove whether a missed item or price was correct, so optional feedback still helps.

When you open TallyLoot, we count the visit and a few steps such as tapping the scanner button, opening the camera preview, seeing a first price, opening the reveal, or tapping an install link. A tagged campaign link may store its short source, medium, campaign, and creative labels on your device for up to seven days so we can see which outreach brings people to a first scan. The server stores those labels with an anonymous session ID and a privacy-protected device identifier. We do not store the full referring URL, camera frames, or video in these campaign records. Install-link taps do not confirm an installation.

General feedback stores your rating, optional comment, item count, and tally total. Item price ratings store the item name, estimate, and thumbs-up or thumbs-down. If you edit a final price or quantity, TallyLoot stores the item name plus the original and corrected values so we can evaluate and improve future estimates. Feedback never includes camera images or video.
